To all of our previous and future guests,

We hope that where ever you are in the world, things are flowing as smoothly as they can and you are feeling healthy and happy in your mind and body.

We understand that many of you have had a tough time dealing with the uncertainties and lifestyle changes that have come with this pandemic. We feel you on that, as we too have had to deal with our own change of plans.

We re-opened 1st August 2020.

No minimum stay & Friendly Cancellation Policy

We have implement a no minimum stay policy and no penalty for cancellations up to 48 hours in advance (within 48 hours we charge 1-night stay). With retreat bookings, you can cancel up to 30 days before without penalty, and within 30 days you’ll be charged for 1-night stay).

We wanted to share with you news of what’s been going on here with our BES family around the world – YOU.

Renovations & Supporting Our Staff

We’ve taken the opportunity, while we have had this extended closure, to get busy rebuilding the whole restaurant.

We’ve hired 12 local villagers for this task, along with our other permanent staff, to support the local community who have experienced the effects of their families being unable to work (in some cases).

Additionally, maintaining our extensive permaculture gardens is something that never stops, so this has allowed us to keep our 22 staff working to support their families on a week on/week off basis.

Sharing Food

Additionally, maintaining our extensive permaculture gardens is something that never stops, so this has allowed us to keep our 22 staff working to support their families on a week on/week off basis.

Also, since we have been 2 months without guests and our abundant garden is still flourishing, we have opened our food gardens to villagers to help themselves to fresh, healthy produce. We’re happy we can still feed others!

Opening to guests

Our fingers are crossed that we will be able to open back up again on our intended date of 1st August 2020. We will keep you updated as soon as we have confirmation on the state of the borders and regulations.

For now, Bali is operating under strict entry processes for only specific expatriates and locals to be able to enter. As we are seeing more places such as Ubud and Canggu starting to open establishments like cafes, we imagine that tourism will be slowly introduced again in the coming months.

With all of our guest’s and staff’s safety and benefit in mind, we will implement a minimum 3-day stay policy with no penalty for cancellations up to 48 hours in advance (within 48 hours we charge 1-night stay). With retreat bookings, you can cancel up to 30 days before without penalty, and within 30 days you’ll be charged for 1-night stay).

New Experiences upon opening

We have also been busy getting creative with new ideas for guests to experience the richness of the local culture during their stay with us. We are thrilled to announce that the following activities will be added to our other offerings once we are open again:

Melukat: Balinese Water Blessing Ceremony

This is a unique experience conducted at our 12-meter private on-site waterfall by our village Mangku (Priest). The purification ceremony, known as Melukat in the Balinese language, is a ritual to cleanse the body spiritually and physically from any negative energies from our present and past lives. By washing the body in holy mountain spring water according to the guided ritual, it creates a lasting sense of lightness and rejuvenation in your spirit.

Agni Hortra: Fire Ceremony

Held on the evening before the full moon each month, this ceremony is located outside of Bali Eco Stay at the Five Elements 5-Star resort. You’ll be driven 1 hour from Bali Eco Stay to the resort, which is about 30 minutes outside Ubud. In this potent Hindu ceremony you’ll be invited to steep in the magical atmosphere of sacred tradition as you experience the healing benefits of intentional release as you purge unwanted thoughts and feelings into the fire. After the ceremony will be an optional 3-course gourmet Chef’s Tasting Dinner at the famous Five Elements restaurant before you are taken back to Bali Eco Stay.

Guided Village Tour

Take part in a guided walking tour of the local village close to Bali Eco Stay, Kanciana. You’ll learn about village culture and the intricacies of daily local life, finishing up at our land owner’s family compound where family life and culture will be explained and tea will be served.

We hope that very soon we can share these new inclusions on our offerings,

as well as reveal our beautiful freshly renovated spaces

when you come to visit us again.

For now, stay safe and keep flowing,

From all the BES family.
